OLIVER TWIST




                                                               OLIVER TWIST:

SUMMARY:

Oliver Twist, a 7 years old boy was an orphan, who lived in an orphanage.

The orphanage decided to sell him for 5 pounds, when he found out who his owner was, he did not want to go to live with him. The next day a man who sold tombs, bought him. As he did not feel very comfortable in that house, the next day he decided to go to London.

When he arrived, a boy who lived in a house with other children and a man who taught theme to steal, told him to go and live with him, go give him food and a home.

The next morning he left the house with two children to steal handkerchiefs and some food, things went wrong and instead of catching the other two children, police caught him.

Once at trial, a man said that it wasn't Oliver.

As he was left alone in the street, a man with a lot of moneyand a big house, decided to take Oliver home with him. The robbers of the house where he was before were not going to be left without him, since they needed him to steal for them.

A few days later they caugth him and went to rob the house where he lived a few days before. Oliver, left the house hurt.

Nancy, one of the girls ewho lived in the house, helped the man with money that had welcome Oliver, telling him where he was. A mas, a friend of one who taught the children to steal, who had a dog, learned that he was helping and killed her.

The dog, escaped, because he didn´t want to be with him anymore.

All the children had to go to another house. One day, the other man, showed up at that house and soon after the dog appeared, which brought the police and many more people behind.

The man used Oliver as a hostage. In the end he ended up hanging himself without wanting to. Oliver went to live with the other gentleman.

One day Oliver wanted to go to see the man who took care of many children in a jail, since they were going to hang him that same day. The man told Oliver to take all the jewels he had and keep theme hor himself.

That´s how Oliver Twist story finished.


MY OPINION:

I think it´s a story a little inappropriate for our age, but I think that on the other hand, it´s good that they know that we used to live like that before.

I belive that Charles Dickens decided to make this book, because he wanted to represent a part of his childhood, where he lived, what the houses were like, the streets and how people lived in those times.


CHARLES DICKENS:
He is an English writer and novelist, his works are universally recognized. He has many more books, such us: Great Hopes, Our Common Friend, Dvid Copperfield, and severa more.
